Turn scattered marketing into a growth system.
Marketing consulting | Startups and SMBs
From Scratch Growth helps startups and growing businesses build a marketing foundation without overcomplicating the work or stretching resources past what’s possible.
Demand generation + content strategy
Whether you’re in the B2B or B2C space, I’ll develop a custom GTM action plan built around your goals, resources, and stage of growth.
You’ve dabbled in marketing a little
Most early-stage companies don’t have a marketing problem because they haven’t tried anything. They have a problem because they’ve tried a little bit of everything without anyone connecting the dots.
Maybe you’ve hired a few specialists for one-off projects, a strategist who leaves execution to you, or one stretched-thin generalist trying to figure out what matters most without the data or brand foundations to guide them.
This is where From Scratch Growth comes in.
You don’t necessarily need more marketing. You need someone to make the marketing you’re already doing work better.
-
Figure out what you’re saying, who you’re saying it to, and what actually deserves your time and budget.
-
Build a practical plan for getting in front of the people most likely to buy without throwing money at random tactics.
-
Make the journey from “this looks interesting” to “I’m ready to buy” clearer, easier, and more effective.
-
Connect channels, campaigns, data, and people so marketing stops feeling like a collection of one-off projects.
You may be a good fit if…
-
01
Marketing has become messy, inconsistent, or overly reactive.
-
02
You have several contractors or agencies, but no one connecting the pieces.
-
03
You are investing in marketing without a clear view of what is generating results.
-
04
You know something needs to change but are unsure what to prioritize first.
-
05
You need someone who can create the strategy and help execute it.
-
06
You want senior marketing support without immediately hiring a full-time leader.
What I help you build
Experienced B2B + B2C marketing support, without building a large internal team.
-
A connected strategy for attracting, capturing, and converting qualified demand, not simply generating more activity.
-
Clarify what you do, who your target audience is, and why you matter, so every channel tells the same story.
-
Google, LinkedIn, Meta, and Amazon campaigns with clear targeting, conversion paths, reporting, and ROI.
-
Differentiated content that supports organic visibility, buyer education, and long-term demand.
-
Nurture, onboarding, retention, expansion, and win-back programs that move people forward.
-
Stronger messaging, thoughtful page structure, and ongoing testing between interest and action.
-
Disconnected tactics become coordinated campaigns with an audience, message, timeline, and goal.
-
Lead definitions, qualification, handoffs, follow-up, and the systems that keep revenue teams together.
-
Senior direction, prioritization, and accountability without a full-time executive hire.
I’ve spent my career building marketing from the ground up.
About From Scratch Growth
Hi, I’m Liz Van Hoose, a GTM and demand generation consultant with 12+ years of experience helping startups and growing companies turn good products into clear, repeatable growth.
I’ve served as the first or only marketer at multiple companies, giving me a full-picture view of how strategy, systems, and execution need to work together to drive growth.
Today, I work with B2B and B2C teams that need help building the right foundation, untangling scattered marketing, or adding senior strategy and execution without another full-time hire.
My approach is simple: no random acts of marketing, inflated promises, or plans your team can’t realistically execute.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every engagement is built around your goals, priorities, internal resources, and stage of growth. That might mean a focused strategy project, ongoing strategy and execution support, or fractional marketing leadership that keeps the bigger picture moving forward.
-
Both. I can develop the strategy and stay close to the work required to put it into action. Depending on your needs, that may include creating campaigns, refining messaging, improving your website, optimizing paid programs, building lifecycle journeys, or coordinating with your existing team and contractors.
-
With a smaller agency budget, you may realistically receive around 40 hours of dedicated support each month, often divided among account managers and specialists who are also balancing other clients. Because the work is spread across different people and priorities, even straightforward projects can take time to move from idea to execution.
I work more like an embedded member of your team. I stay close to your day-to-day priorities, understand how each project connects to the bigger picture, and move between strategy and hands-on execution as your needs change. It’s closer to the focus, flexibility, and ownership of a full-time marketing leader, without the full-time hire so you can expect faster turnaround.
-
It depends on where the biggest opportunities are. Messaging, conversion, and campaign improvements can sometimes create early wins, while channels like SEO, content, and lifecycle marketing build momentum over time. We’ll identify the highest-impact priorities first and agree on how progress will be measured.
One caveat: If any agency or contractor communicates that you’ll get results within 30 days, they are likely inflating their abilities due to the time it takes to strategically onboard and understand a new client. -
Lower engagements typically start at $4k per month. Hourly rates are also available.
After our initial conversation, I’ll recommend the engagement level that fits your needs and provide a clear proposal outlining the work, expectations, and total cost.
